Sri Lanka: Integrated resort by John Keells approved

Aside from James Packer’s Crown casino the Sri Lankan government has also approved another large integrated resort project by John Keells Holdings.

Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers has given the go ahead to John Keells Holdings US$ 650 million worth Multi / Mix Integrated Resort , which is expected to be built in the city of Colombo.

The proposal has been forwarded by Minister of Investment Promotion Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.

The resort which will come up in the areas of Glennie Street and Justice Akbar Mawatha of Colombo – 02, will consist of a luxury hotel, a convention center, entertainment facilities, a shopping complex, luxury condominiums and office units.

The proposed resort, which is categorized as a strategic development project will be granted tax concessions due for such a project.
