The Malaysian Water Services Industry Act 2006 is the legislation regulating the Malaysian water industry for potable and waste water.
You need to know it to have an understanding of how the industry is structured and governed – at the treatment plant and the network distribution. This act has direct relevance for your land development projects in Malaysia. For example, the Act requires that the distribution/reticulation network, put in place by the land developer, is surrendered to the licensed water business operators to operate and maintain.
